Wakooz.com is a simple and fun little home portal

gstv_wakooz_logoGood morning to you all. Today we are writing about a site we received from our submission page. Wakooz is a customizable portal that provides a RSS feeds reader and the favourite portal page that allows you to broadcast a summary of the most recent news from the media websites (Globe and Mail, New York Times, etc) and/or blog articles. It also allows you to pull in “gadgets” such as youtube videos, sports, television, and a wide variety of other web bits to make it more interesting and feel more like home.

In Their Own Words:

Wakooz is your customizable portal that provides you with a wide variety of useful applications mostly collected in 2 separate web pages.

The main page contains an online feed aggregator also known as a RSS feed reader. This allows you, the user, to spread and broadcast a summary of the most recent news from the media websites (Globe and Mail, New York Times, etc) and/or your favorites blog articles. Moreover, Wakooz gives you the opportunity to integrate various other gadgets like video podcast (YouTube, etc.) weather channels, games, etc. all these offered via web widgets.

What makes this site a Great Site To Visit:
With many “home portals” onliine the real key is finding one that is fast loading, less flash, and easy to use. This has a simple interface with little to no flash to wait on. Depending on the depth of your home page and mashup of different web bits this has the ability to become a nice view when you first fire up your pc.

The Look And Feel:
Simple oranges and dark header with a touch of fun. The whole site actually is what you make of it. You can pull in “gadgets”, RSS feeds, Top news, and many other things that will make this your own personal page. What really brings this all together, unlike many of the other headaches dubbed “home pages”is that you don’t have advertising or the companies’ set widgets in your page.

The true simplicity is that you just need your name, username, password, plus four other simple fill in the blank standards that you expect from signup forms and your on your way. You won’t even have to leave the page to do email verification to get started as there is none.

Final Thoughts:
Again like i said, there are many portals online really its your choice. We usually won’t write about them as we don’t use them or care about them. We did find this to be simple and clean and above all fast loading so it makes it to our list for that very reason. Check it out and see if you like it and as always leave your feedback on this or any other site you use.
